The weather’s wonderful, the skies have finally lost that depressing, murky touch, and everything smells of spring… You’re in Chicago – and where better to be than here, right? Take your jacket off, grab a pair of your most comfortable sneaks and start your tour around the magnificent Chicagoland! With so many things going on in the city, you’ll love everything Spring 2018 has to offer – from great festivals and artistic shows to casual sightseeing thrills, there’s no doubt Chicago’s the place to be.
Here are just a few ideas to get you going:
#1 Check out the WhiskyFest Chicago
If you are a whiskey lover – save the date for March 23, 2018, and head to Hyatt Regency Chicago. WhiskyFest Chicago is one of the most spectacular festivals in the country, featuring more than 300 whiskeys from around the world. Apart from the fabulous whiskey selection, you’ll be able to enjoy a gourmet buffet too and learn a little bit about this iconic drink – its history and the way it’s made. Even though whiskey’s normally cost an arm and a leg, you can find affordable options in local bars like Old Fifth (in West Loop) and Delilah’s (in Lake View). Hey, just in case you have a few whiskeys extra – make sure you’ve got a safe ride to your location!
#2 Go to the Chicago Latino Film Festival
If you are in Chicago sometime around April 5 and plan to stay until the 19th, 2018, we recommend you enjoy the 34th annual offering of the Chicago Latino Film Festival. You’ll find the event at AMC River East 21, showing over 100 films of varying lengths produced by directors from Latin America, Portugal, Spain, and the U.S. Each year, there are tens of thousands of participants and viewers who gather to enjoy the craftsmanship of these Latino artists. A definite must-see for all film buffs!
#3 Tour the City
The perfect springtime Chicago activity for everyone who’s visiting for the first time is either a bus tour or a limo tour experience. Circling Chicago practically up close is an unforgettable feeling, and you’ll enjoy every segment of it!
If you are into that excursion vibe with a bunch of random people riding the bus with you, then opt for a tour bus to take you places and treat you to the top Chicago highlights. If, however, you are more of a going-solo or going-with-a-selected-number-of-friends type of a person, book a Chicago black car and see everything you would from a bus, only – in the utmost comfort of a limo. AJ Limo Chicago is Chicago’s favorite limo service as it has a long-standing tradition in providing the best service for Chicago’s locals and visitors. Choose a hop-on-hop-off service (aka By the Hour service or Point to Point service), giving you the option to get off where YOU want and explore the city at your own pace. You can arrange with our staff to be picked up at the agreed time and place after you’ve completed your sightseeing in one Chicago area and want to go to the next. Just, be sure to book on time – at this time of year, sightseeing limo rentals are incredibly popular!
Not a thing the veggie community would appreciate but definitely an event meat buffs should check out. Taking place at UIC Forum from April 6 till 18, 2018, the monumental Baconfest is one of the most popular food and drink fests to enjoy! Anything bacon-inspired and bacon-infused is to be featured as a part of Baconfest and local restaurants that pride on their bacon offer. The bacon-tastic menus feature anything from simple bacon plates to complex bacon-esque brews, so be prepared to be wowed! Anyone say a bacon overload? Yes, please!
#5 Ride a Bike
For everyone who’d rather go around Chicago on a bike than walk or book a ride, Windy City is a bike-friendly environment, encouraging both locals and visitors to enjoy a range of the city’s short-term rental facilities to get them around. You don’t have to use a bike as your only type of transportation; rent a bike to ride along gorgeous lakefront and park side trails (Lake Michigan and Millennium Park, we’re looking at you!) and see the wonderful Chicago nature!
Chicago’s gorgeous any time of the year, spring in particular. Choose your Chicago thrills and start planning your Chicagoland adventures today!
