River - Chicago Whereabouts

Unlike New York, where a simple stroll down the sidewalk means brushing against at least 38 people and getting into a car calls for a prayer, Chicago is a pretty calm city. Still, it’s a fairly big one, and that’s why you’ll love the hacks we’ve listed below to help you get around it:

1. Have an Awesome Chicago Experience With a Water Taxi

If you are rushing to get from point A to point B, forget about water taxi altogether; this is not the type of transportation you rely on when you need to be someplace in the span of 10 minutes. However, it is an absolutely adorable way to reach your destination and pick up a few views along the way. It can be a great way to go sightseeing – whether you are doing it yourself or taking a group of friends for an awesome day out. An all-day pass costs $8 which is, you’ll agree, a super affordable price.

2. Feel Like a Million Bucks With AJ Limo Chicago

Limo game is pretty strong in Chicago, and the locals seem not to mind it at all. If anything, they’re using limo transportation and the awesome-looking cars that come with it for pretty much everything. Business transportations, special occasions, hourly bookings, airport transport, etc. – you name it. And why shouldn’t they! The prices are great, and the service is amazing. The favorite limo service in Chicago seems to be AJ Limo Chicago as they’ve been scoring the highest number of clients per month, for years. You should definitely try it! Going to Chicago without booking AJ Limo Chicago at least once is like you’ve never even went.

3. Escape Baseball-game Crowds by Taking a Taxi

Whether you are just in the neighborhood or are leaving a game, the best way to avoid foot traffic (and projectile vomiting!) is by using Chicago taxi. No matter what’s happening in the city, taxis are plentiful and pretty easy to hail. Another option of hailing a taxicab is electronically, through a mobile app called E-Hail. CHICABS are safe and secure and passengers can pay electronically for the taxicab fare through the app.

4. Bike the 606 Trail When Traveling to/from Humboldt Park and Bucktown

The wonderful 606 trail is no secret, but – unless you are a regular cyclist on it – don’t be surprised with how spunky the commute can be! However, despite that zippy commute, what makes the 606 trail awesome is that there are no red lights or giant potholes – so, your ride is safe. Peak hours can be troublesome but riding down the trail is still less stressful than driving around in a car, losing your nerves over the horrible traffic.

5. Use These Crucial Chicago Transit Apps

Not that we’re too big fans of our digital reality but we can’t deny how helpful it is to have every information available at a single click. With an app for pretty much everything, we can now get quick information on our next train, the closest limo service, the nearest strip club (what!) and – apparently – an app helping us get around town.

RideScout is probably the most useful app of all, helping you find the nearby taxis, ride-shares, public transit options, things to do in Chicago, Zipcar rentals, Divvy bike stations, and parking-rental spots. The city’s ParkChicago app allows users to pay and extend their time remotely while SpotHero finds private parking spots nearby. If you are a driver, you’ll find Waze useful: it offers faster alternate routes in real time, helping you speed through the commute.

Everything about Chicago is just swell… Find the right transportation, organize your day and enjoy everything this gorgeous city has to offer!
