5 Reasons Why Chicago Is So Awesome

The land where everything and anything’s possible, the land of big dreams and even bigger failures has been the sore spot of the East and a goal-destination of everyone else. Well, if we’re being completely honest, it’s been a goal-destination of the majority of the Eastern bloc too, at least those who like to see beyond Red flags and red doctrines). For decades you’ve been hearing about the power of America in all its glory but not until you visit it will you realize how magnificent it truly is.

The Eeek Part

We wouldn’t be true American if we didn’t address the negatives of our land, would we? Exactly. On that note, let’s just own the horrifying smells of NY streets that make you vomit (somebody should regulate the problem, honestly), 10 m2 apartments that cost you more than a mortgage on a house in Europe would, and the crime that makes your stomach twirl! The economy is not so great, either but we do hope for better times. But, hey – we love you America, for all the enlightenment, possibility and positive change you’ve brought globally.

What Matters

In less than a 1000 years, the US has grown to be the single most influential country in the world, and we seem to be more than happy to go with it. No matter what city you visit in the US, you stand in awe – each and every of them has got something unique to offer. However, no matter how rude it is to single just one city out, we have to. Why? Because we’re obsessed with it! Yes, you’ve guessed it – it’s Chicago and every attraction outside of it.

What Matters - 5 Reasons Why Chicago Is So Awesome

If you are a Chicago resident, you know how phenomenal this city is in all respect; if you are coming to visit, here are some excellent pointers you may want to explore on your next visit:

People are Amazing

One of the amazing things we love about the US is its diversity (no matter what Trump says). The people that came from literally everywhere searching for something better, more prosperous, less painful and way more profitable than in their home countries have brought their food, culture, customs, and behaviors to the US, turning it into a cosmopolitan dream.

Mix mid-western generosity with classic New York hustle and you get Chicagoans. They are the people you’ll recognize for chic swagger of a significant urban socialite mixed with some of that rust-belt blue-collar edge. It’s adorable! They are also very nice, and you’ll never feel out of place in Chicago. Add spending time with  Chicagoans to your bucket list, and you won’t regret it!

The History Is Stunning

Believe it or not, Chicago wasn’t always the hip part of America. For a long time, Chicago was pegged as the “immigrant swampland” no one wanted to build on. However, soon after the national trade emerged, the Windy City got the status of a significant transportation hub between eastern and western United States. From there, it’s all history… The Great Chicago Fire of 1871, The World’s Columbian Exposition in 1893, the Prohibition era in the 1920s to present day Kanye West, Barrack Obama and Michael Jordan (not in that order of significance).

Sports Are Major

Chicago sports fans are die-hard sports enthusiasts who take pride in everything Chicago-related.  You’ll love their team spirit, the stadiums which are more of national landmarks than they are sports arenas, and the city’s electric vibe whenever there’s a game on. Chicagoans usually go big whenever there’s a game on, so there’s always an entire charade of booked sports town cars that take them to the Bulls game (and every other game) or handle their trip back. How do we know? Because whenever there’s a game in town, our AJ phones are ringing off the hook!

The Crime Is Organized

Wait, what? Exactly. Hardly anyone would associate anything with crime a plus side to a city, but when it comes to Chicago, you just have to. Chicago has been the perfect place for youngsters to break into the underworld ever since Al Capone ran the streets in the 1920s. Even though the crime rate has significantly decreased compared to the violence in the 80s and 90s, you’ll still find a lot of (organized) gang-related activities in the city, especially the Southside to Chinatown.

Water, Water, Water

Since Chicago has a beach so close to the city, it makes it a spectacular place to enjoy your time when the days are warm/hot. Bike along Lake Michigan and Lakeshore Drive, play volleyball at North Beach, go on a date walking down Navy Pier… Add a cherry on top with a limo ride with AJ Chicago to take your date from the Pier to any of the Chicago’s fabulous restaurants for dinner. This eye-candy sight combined with a luxurious limo ride could easily get you to second base (just sayin’!). Plus, our drivers are super discrete (wink-wink), so don’t even worry about that.

Don’t mind our spontaneous hatin’ on the aspects of the US – hey, it’s our country, so we can be harsh as much as we want. But we love. We truly do. Chicago, especially. And, if you need a limo on demand and a private chauffeur for that date or anything else – give AJ Limo Chicago a ring at (312) 858-4744. We’ll gladly assist.
